Results from yesterday and games scheduled today for Jackson area league teams.

Big 8

Bronson 3, Reading 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-12)

Concord 3, Quincy 0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-12)

The Lady Jackets opened Big 8 play with a win over Quincy 25-21, 25-20, 25-15.  We played solid defense that help to ignite our offense. Iyla Weeks had a great night at the net with 21 kills. Iyla also had 3 digs was 7/10 serving.  Annie Saenz served tough leading us serving 15/17 with 2 aces.  She also added 3 kills, 3 digs and a block.  Emma Burbo had 4 kills, 1 block, 4 digs, and was 10/11 serving with 2 aces.  Marissa Mandrelle was 10/12 serving with 2 aces, 4 digs, and a kill.  Bradie Lehman had 26 assists, 2 kills, 2 digs, and was 15/15 serving.  Jalyn Otto was 6/6 serving with an ace and an assist.  Bella Coppernoll added a kill.  Lilie Vandenburgh was 2/3 serving and had 4 digs.  The Lady Jackets are 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

Cascades Conference

Addison 3, Jonesville 0 (25-22, 25-13, 27-25)

The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Vandercook for 2 conference matches. The Comets started the night with authority beating Vandercook in 3 sets, 25-8, 25-11, 25-12. The comets then fell in 3 tough sets to a solid offensive Addison team, 22-25, 13-25, and 25-27. Leading the way offensively was Morgan Wood with 17 kills, Natalynn Beach with 14 and  Korra Estel with 10.   Carley Graves led the way with 27 assists followed by Jayda Rathbun with 14. The comets had a great night in the back row with Haley Mach leading the way with 23 digs followed by Korra Estel with 13, Olivia Tyler with 12 and Hannah Young with 7. The team did an amazing job on serve receive and defense and overall played some very aggressive/high level ball! We continue to improve every day!

Addison 3, Columbia 1 (31-33, 26-24, 25-19, 25-23)

Columbia Volleyball traveled to Vandercook Lake to compete in the Varsity Cascade Conference Quad facing Addison & Vandercook.  The ladies battled tough with Addison in 4 long sets to come up short with a 1-3 loss.  Scores were 33-31, 24-26, 19-25, 23-25. After an hour &  1/2 of hard volleyball with Addison we then went on to face Vandercook Lake & swept them 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-22
Super proud of how hard we fought tonight especially against Addison.  We were behind a bit in 3 of the sets & battled Back showing a lot of grit & determination of Never giving up!

Jonesville 3, Vandercook lake 0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-12)

The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to East Jackson for their first conference quad. They played both Michigan Center and Leslie. The Warriors beat Michigan Center is three sets (25-18,25-15,25-17) as well as Leslie in three sets (25-14,25-15,25-12). Hanna Alvarez had 31 digs for the night while Mia Buttigieg followed with 16. Buttigieg racked up 59 assists and served 33-for-33 with 17 points. Nadene Hubbard served 25-for-25 with 15 points. Emily Brown served 20-for-20 with 14 points. Ashleigh Simon led with 30 kills. Reese Lape had ten kills and six blocks. Addalyn Hensen had 10 kills also. Freshman, Vivian Vitale and Aliria Pastoriza had 9 kills each. The team travels to Napoleon on Tuesday.
